Champva claims suddenly getting denied?!?

for my wife have started getting denied recently due to “incorrect information”. We discovered the reason being is that the VA has our wedding date as her date of birth. It’s been listed this way for 17 years so we believed that the “Date of Birth” and “Effective Date“ of dependency were basically the same thing.

Anyway… Claims are getting denied from multiple offices that used to be processed. One of the offices just resubmitted with our wedding date in place of her birthdate and everything went through just fine. This other office however says they cannot do that.

The ”Effective date“ for my kids is correctly listed as their birthdate with their expiration date being when they turn 18. My wife’s effective date is our wedding date and her expiration date is not until 2042 so it seems to me CHAMPVA recognizes the distinction. I’m confused as to who needs to fix this.
