Item arrived broken, return for refund?
Hello everyone
I have recently purchased a studio light from Amazon in “Used-Very good” condition. After nearly a month of waiting, I finally got it today - only to find out that it’s broken, doesn’t work and has missing parts on top of it. The packaging was also horrible and the light was loose inside the case (with another metal object in there) so I wouldn’t be surprised if something happened to it on the way.
I contacted Amazon support and the only thing they could offer me is basically return the item for a refund. I asked for a replacement and they couldn’t even do that.
I expressed that I think it’s utterly unjust that I had to wait all this time to basically get garbage, that’s a problem on their end and now I have to go through the trouble of returning it just to get the refund I deserve.
I’ve had chats with several unhelpful agents who all eventually quit the chat. They didn’t agree to any attempt of reasoning. I offered to return the item and reorder it in NEW condition, so long as I would get refunded for the difference and they disagreed.
Is this even legal? Is there anything more I can try to do at this point?
Thank you for reading
