Pc gaming newbie

As the title states. Im a new pc player (laptop) and im not coordinated with the controls. I have a switch pro controller. Ive connected to the device and it seems the controller but I dont have all the inputs. I read about downloading steam and did that and it works but crashes the game upon exiting. Don't have this issue when using the game launcher thru battle.net. Just FYI. Im not the most computer savvy and this is my attempt on getting more inept so any explanation will need to be dumbed down. Thanks in advance.
