Jewelry and watch cremated

Hello,

So the point is we went to Greet my grandpa when he died. We told the funeral director that we wanted the ring and watch he wore before cremation. She told me I can give it now but I couldn't handle the fact she would just take it off of him while we were there. And she told us she would give it at the funeral.

Something happened or she forgot or one of her colleagues idk but both got cremated. Those were two important physical things he always had and we really wanted

What can I do? It was not noted on Paper...
