denver spot featured in 25 best diners in u.s. article

General Discussion

I was scrolling through instagram when I ran across this article from Huckberry (a menswear brand that weirdly has articles as well?) and it was a list of the 25 best diners across america. I was super surprised to see that Champagne Tiger was on the list. maybe i’m just cranky or judgey, but I went there for drag brunch a few months ago and it was truly one of the most unpleasant dining experiences i’ve had in awhile. the food was deeply mediocre and extremely overpriced, it was cramped as all get out in there, and the sound and set up they used for the event made it DEAFENINGLY loud in there. my ears were ringing after we left. and to add insult to injury, they charge quite a lot for the drag show itself and also don’t offer any specials to correspond with the drag brunch.

obviously the experience of the writer of the article may have been during the regular service, but I wanted to hear other folks experiences about champagne tiger. the reviews on google are mostly really good but I just can’t shake the feeling that i’m not alone in my assessment that it was deeply mediocre and not worth the price of admission.
