Am i stupid for waiting for their condolences?

I know we're no contact...but we ended up in good terms wven talking about going back together when our lives are not as messy...

Someone from muy family died, and i've been waiting for that message, i know it probably wont come.

I feel a bit stupid, i was here asking people on reddit if i should message them the day their mom has a surgery...

Idk it was not a rigid nc for me, it was more of a let's low a bit the noise and anxiety for a while so we can grow.

Am i an idiot for waiting for that message?
