The interaction between and Alex and his future father in law reminded me of a scene from The Walking Dead
Random, i know, but in the walking dead theres a flashback episode where Morgan meets a survivor (the brother from Drew Carey show) who tells him a story about a prisoner in jail who was up for parole. He says everyone saw him as a model, reformed inmate: went to church every Sunday, volunteered for extra chores, ect. Everyone was championing for his release.
He said he sat down with him and looked him in they eyes and the prisoner immediately lept across the table and tried to kill him. He knew deep inside what he really was and saw through the facade and the prisoner knew it.
Thats exactly the vibe I got at that dinner between Alex and the father. The father saw right away who this guy really was and Alex knew it. Thats why the scene had so much tension.
Just an observation.
