Madden 26 NOOB - what to do when in defense

I just started playing madden for the first time, my idea was learning football through the game (I am not from US). While I get the basics of the game and I can score, I really don't understand what should I do when on defense. Most beginner videos focus on coverage and formation, but before that I have no clue of what I should do when play g on defense. Any tips?
