How do you the right Childminder

So basically I am returning to work in a few months time and I need to leave my 10 month old with a Childminder. We’ve obviously done a lot of searching and have narrowed it down to only One who suits us in terms of budget and location. But honestly it feels a but odd to just settle with the first one you see/choose . I’ve heard people go through loads and loads of them before actually selecting one .. so how exactly do you know who is right?
