Cerclage has been placed! Still so nervous
TW: LOSS
After my first pregnancy was a loss at 20 weeks due to IC, it was advised that I get a preventative cerclage with future pregnancies. Thankfully, I have a supportive care team and was able to get it done at 14 weeks (2 days ago)
The process was pretty simple, though it was a LONG day at the hospital for me but everything went according to plan. Unfortunately, while I do feel a bit better, I am still anxious because I know I am not out of the woods yet. several weeks ago I also dealt with a subchorionic hematoma that was absolutely terrifying when I woke up and though I was losing another baby. I am thankful to have come so far and that the cerclage has been placed. I have a follow up in one week with an ultrasound as well so I am looking forward to checking in on baby. I have been instructed pelvic rest for the remainder of my pregnancy.
Reading other stories has helped me continue to heal and grieve my loss and feel better about the road ahead. I am dealing with some soreness and back pain from the spinal anesthetic as well as a bit of bleeding but will continue to monitor.
Any advice or encouragement is welcomed and appreciated <3
