My pet peeve is when people unnecessarily shorten words or phrases

For example, I can't stand it when people refer to guacamole as "guac" or a supervisor at work as a "sup." I was in a work related sub and someone talked about a manager giving him "a verbal." How hard is it to type out "a verbal warning"? It just comes across as lazy and stupid when people shorten words and phrases for no good reason.
