The driver seatbelt alert will go off the second I sit down, even if the car is in park. Is this normal?

I’m new to having a Volvo - leasing a 2026 Volvo XC 40 plus b4. I’ve noticed that the seat belt alert will go off the second I sit down, even if the car is still in park (and sometimes before I fully turn the car on - ie if I remote start it, then get in and sit down). I’ve never had a car where the seatbelt alert goes off while in park before. Is this normal or a bug?
