Quick question

My dad just got a 2012 grand caravan, he says the radio will work for a little bit then it will turn off completely. Any ideas of what would cause this? New details If you start the radio with a cd it will work, but if you take the cd out go to radio, and try to play the cd, it wont work for either Cd or Radio
