Should I change my nose ring

So I got my nose pierced in Jan. 2025. My goal this entire time was to eventually put in a hoop. I waited an entire year to change it, this January. This did not go well. Pretty much immediately the piercing was super irritated and a bump formed almost immediately. I took it out and put the stud back in. I think this ring was the incorrect size for my piercing and material so I bought a new titanium ring in the correct size. However, it’s taken a super long time for this bump to heal. As in it’s just gone down over the past week, so it’s been there for about a month and a half at this point. I don’t want to irritate my piercing any further but I would really really like to have this hoop after a year of waiting 😭 advice?
