Dio - Heaven and Hell (Live at the Spectrum 1986) REMASTERED

Experience one of the most legendary spectacles in heavy metal history! Filmed on June 17, 1986, at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, this performance of "Heaven and Hell" captures Ronnie James Dio at the absolute summit of his solo career during the second leg of the Sacred Heart tour.

This show is iconic for its "medieval high-tech" stage production, featuring the massive circular lighting rig (often referred to as the "crystal ball" or "lotto magic" rig) that projected imagery and housed hundreds of lights above the band.

Facts About the Show & Stage Production

The Massive Stage Rig: The production featured an elaborate castle set with a drawbridge and the famous circular lighting element. Dio himself described the centerpiece as a six-foot-wide "crystal ball" used to project images into the crowd.

A Costly Spectacle: The mechanical devices and laser effects used on this tour cost an estimated $250,000 to build and transport in 1986 dollars.
The sparks, dragon, stage props, lasers, spotlights and energy of a live heavy metal show like this is unforgettable and priceless.

Denzil the Dragon: The set climaxed with Dio fighting a giant, fire-breathing animatronic dragon named Denzil, which towered over the stage and featured laser-emitting eyes.
New Lineup: This tour marked the debut of guitarist Craig Goldy, who had recently replaced Vivian Campbell. Goldy joined veterans Vinny Appice, Jimmy Bain, and Claude Schnell to complete the classic '86 lineup.

The Recording Legacy: Originally released on VHS as Sacred Heart "The Video," the full, unedited performance was later restored from the original 16mm film and released as Finding the Sacred Heart – Live in Philly 1986. Video Remaster produced by The Metal Vault
