All Newcomers to University of Tsukuba (2026)

Hi everyone!

First of all, congratulations with your successful MEXT results. If you are also arriving in the University of Tsukuba like me (and other fellows) in April or September, this thread is for you.

This will be my second time in the UoT (I did my Master's there during 2023-2025), so I thought it will be a good idea to help newcomers with their questions and acclimatization in a new place. I already got in touch with applicants from India and Mexico and I know there are applicants at least from Brazil and China (?).

If you have any questions about the University/city, feel free to DM me or write your questions here so that everyone can benefit.

I am from Uzbekistan, so if there are any CIS students - вдвойне приятно! There are big communities comprised of international students in UoT (Central Asian, South American, African), so you will definitely not feel alone there and I will try to hook you up with them.
