How should a new war system look?
As someone who's first GSG was HOI4 going into Vic 3 as my second, this pisses me off the most about the game. I wanted more control of my economy, so I came to Vic 3, yet I lost all of the sexy military stuff. I don't necessarily want the same level of coordination, I just can't comprehend the mechanics. No matter how much time I put into trying to understand how the mechanics truly work, I can't get a grasp on it. I win wars, but why? No idea.
Vic 3 is already a really difficult game to understand when it comes to trade and economy for a beginner, which is the main part of the game. In my opinion, it makes no sense to have an army system that is even more difficult to understand.
Look, we all know the war system in Vic 3 is by far the worst part of the game right now. I'm personally not asking for the depth of HOI4 at all, I just want some straightforwardness in how to gain traits on generals, how to properly train your army, etc.. So how do you guys think it should be? Should it be more in-depth like HOI4/EU4, or should it be simplified as it is now?
