How do I study for BLG 144

Anyone who has taken BLG 144 before, please help. This course is so odd because it's mainly about evolution, and I barely know how to study for it.

If anyone has taken this course before and done well, can you drop what study methods you used, also should I just focus on the learning objectives at the end of each slide when making my notes, because if I write down the main stuff from the slides (which is basically everything) it takes me more than 2 hours for one lecture.

I also tried doing Anki cloze flashcards, but it wasn't really helping, so my method now is to just make notes and then do a quiz on that lecture after.
