3-year situationship, sudden cutoff, and I can’t move on. What do I do?
I was in a situationship for about 3 years.
We started as friends, then I caught feelings hard. We talked daily for those 3 years. Shared everything. We were genuinely close. It wasn’t one-sided either. She texted first a lot, showed interest, and made me feel like I mattered.
During her 12th boards, she slowly started going dry. Not completely ignoring me, but I could feel the shift. Then one random day she texted me, “I can’t talk with you anymore.”
That message broke me.
I asked her what happened, if I did something wrong, but she didn’t respond. Just ghosted me completely. I want to clarify that I wasn’t clingy or impatient. Earlier, there were times she told me she wouldn’t be able to talk for weeks or even a month due to family stuff, and I always respected that and waited. So this wasn’t me forcing conversations.
After she ghosted me, I only texted her 2–3 times. I was honestly not in the mental state to text more. A year passed where I wanted to text her almost every day but didn’t because I was scared.
On her birthday, I finally texted her. She replied with “thank you” and then ghosted again.
A few days ago, I texted her “hi, wassup.” We talked for about an hour, just casual stuff about how life is going. I felt hopeful again. But then she ghosted me again.
Yesterday, I texted her asking if she wants to meet sometime. No reply. Ghosted again.
The problem is, I still really like her. She comes in my dreams regularly. I’ve tried moving on, but every time I talk to another girl, I end up missing her even more. I can’t emotionally connect with anyone else.
I feel stuck, confused, and honestly exhausted.
What should I do?
