Unpopular opinion- I found "Incidents around the House" much more compelling than "House of Leaves"

Having read both books, I personally appreciate a book that introduces the horror from the get go and stays on the plot. And then gradually escalates things. Incidents around the house did that for me.

House of Leaves, by comparison, took forever to get to the point and I really lost interest after a while. I guess I actually read books to be scared and it didn't scare me at all.
