B9/9.5 Audi S5 tuning potential

Hello everyone,

I am looking to buy a used b9/9.5 so i dont really know much on the platform and am still learning. I heard that the tcu was locked by audi on the later model years of the S5. Has the aftermarket scene figured out how to unlock them for tcu tunes?

If not how does that affect the tuning potential? Are you limited in tuning the ecu for power due to the transmission not being able to effectively put it down?

I’m not looking for major power. More looking to maybe stage 2/2 plus to keep it simple and not list out parts.
