Where to transfer points?

I have just over 300K points I need to transfer out of rewards plans due to some changes I am making. No any immediate travel plans but I know we want to have a big trip in the next 12-18 months. Given a bonus right now on with Virgin, I was thinking of transferring there and just letting them sit until needed. Virgin is on the list for both Chase and AmEx so I think that is a safe spot. Any thoughts?
