[Spoiler extended]The North story arcs seems to have been driven to a corner

EXTENDED

I think that the main reason why TWOW and ADOS took a lot of time to release is because GRRM reached a corner when it's comes to the Northern arcs

For the plot to continue the Boltons have to be deffeated which seems to be close to impossible because they have the numbers and the forces and even an army of Wildlings is not enough,This one atleast could get resolved if they take the show route and have Sansa and Littlefinger/Sansa alone show with an army

Also for the plot to continue House Stark have to get the full support of the whole North and have the region under total control,The problem is that it's easier said than done with most of the Houses having their members held hostage and said hostages will get executed if they don't fight or the Boltons lose and we have the other Houses that are fully supporting the Boltons like House Dustin,House Karstark...also the fact that they were okay with FArya marrying Ramsay shows that they are either content with the Boltons or aiming for personal profit,The ones wanting to restore a Stark just want a puppet King while they pull the strings How exactly could The House with their kin hostages(Umbers...),The ones that fully support the Boltons(Dustin,Karstark....) and the ones that aim for personal profit(Manderly....)totally submit to House Stark?(Also I'm sure if Roose declare indépendance with himself as King it's will only make his support stronger)

The other point is who will become the New king out of the Starks,And that seems to be another point were George has reached a corner,George seems to lean more toward Jon becoming the King,But the way the plot is going he seems to have Absolutely zero chance,First he is a bastard this one thing alone make it hard to make him King why picking a bastard over 4 trueborn children? We can mention Robb's will but it's can easily be ignored,Also remember what started the Dance of the Dragons and the Blackfyre rebellion.Second there is simply no one to back him he is both too old to get manipulated and a bastard so to no interest to any North house,And if Stannis decides to back him it's won't help his case because that would count as an outside interference And the North prefer independance

And finally the North and South arcs are too disconnected even if they have to be connected,Daenerys is still not even in Westeros and why would she go to the North out of all the regions?also why would the North focus on southern affairs while it's what caused all their problems and they have the Others's invasion to deal with?

Do you agree about the Northern arcs being driven to a corner?and do you think there is a possible way to get out of that corner?
