capsules vs tablets

i was on 10mg IR adderall tablets twice a day and they “worked” but not to the extent i needed them to. i ask my psyc to swap me to 20mg XR. i get the capsules and i swear to got they just dont work. it honestly puts me to sleep. however, when i have taken 20mgXR tablets, it does the complete opposite. are the capsules just bullshit for some people or do i need to change my dosage or something??
