Is mercy really THAT skilless
With the state that mercy is in right now I'm seeing all different types of discussions. The main one being that since mercy is a skilless hero so she shouldn't be good. I don't really understand why this is still being said about her. There is a huge difference between a good mercy and a mercy who isn't good. And maybe the people who want to see her fail will never recognize her strengths and people's skill with her, but I don't understand why.
I'm not even going to lie I understand why people don't want her to be on the team in comp this season. I still had the courage to play her for one game and I took the victory and didn't try again with her. I still think mercy is good enough (maybe not in higher elo/against more coordinated teams) to get value from.
When I see these people who argue these sentiments and go "see look how easy mercy is" they just stand there and yellow beam, never use ga nd rez anyone and anything off cool down not behind cover. Sure it works if the other team is just as unaware as they are but for most Mercy's if we play like that we'd immediately get gunned down and have no value what so ever. In games where I'm constantly healing teammates buffing ults and flanks is a way higher success rate than pumping heals into one person like I see people do when they claim she takes no skill.
I don't see why characters like moria don't get the "no skill" label when all you do is hold down your buttons just like mercy! Maybe it's because Moira does damage but essentially she's the damage heavy version of mercy yet you don't see nearly as much hatred towards moira and moira mains for being skilless (just not healing) and it confuses me. People complain about mercy not doing damage but I feel like if your mercy isn't pulling out glock to finish low enemies or if you're pushing with valk and your team is winning the fight I already don't think you're playing her correctly.
I just feel annoyed when people say she has no skill but when I first got the game I was confused on how people even played her and found her hard to use(coming from someone who played hero shooters) . Im still impressed by high elo Mercy's and I wish people see her how I see her. I also wish they want more for her and her players!
