Best first pokemon game ?

Me and my GF have been playing the tcg for a few weeks now and wanna start getting into the games but don’t know where to start, don’t wanna start with arceus because I’d rather start with one of the mainline double releases that we could each get our own copy of, I’m leaning towards either lets go or sword and shield but not too sure, oh and also switch only games please
