COMBAT BRIEFING NUMBER 1456

"TO:" Interested Parties / Strategic Command

"FROM:" Col. AC Oguntoye, Infantry

"DATE:" February 19, 2026

"SUBJECT:" Operational Update: Russian Special Military Operation (SITREP Feb 19, 2026)

"1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY"

Russian Armed Forces continued offensive operations across all major axes on February 19, 2026, with reported tactical improvements in the North and positional gains in the Center and East. The past 24 hours have been characterized by sustained ground pressure, methodical artillery engagement, and an intensified campaign of deep strikes against Ukrainian logistics and energy infrastructure. The highest concentration of reported Ukrainian casualties occurred in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia sectors.

"2. SITUATION BY OPERATIONAL AXIS"

\- "NORTHERN AXIS (Sumy & Kharkiv Oblasts):" The "North" force group secured more advantageous positions, engaging two Ukrainian mechanized brigades and two territorial defense brigades in Sumy Oblast. In Kharkiv Oblast, four mechanized brigades, a motorized infantry brigade, and a territorial defense brigade were engaged near six settlements. Reported Ukrainian losses include 220 personnel, six artillery pieces, two EW stations, a counter-battery radar, an ammunition depot, and a supply depot.

\- "WESTERN AXIS (Kharkiv & Donetsk Oblasts):" The "West" force group improved tactical positions, engaging two mechanized brigades, an airmobile brigade, and two National Guard brigades. Ukrainian losses reported at 185 personnel, one tank, one armored combat vehicle, 17 vehicles, three artillery pieces, and two ammunition depots.

\- "SOUTHERN AXIS (Donetsk Oblast):" The "Southern" group improved forward-edge positions, engaging three mechanized brigades, a motorized infantry brigade, and a territorial defense brigade. Ukrainian losses reported at 115 personnel, nine vehicles, two artillery pieces (one foreign-made), one ammunition depot, and four supply depots.

\- "CENTRAL AXIS (Donetsk & Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts):" The "Center" force group occupied more advantageous lines, engaging two mechanized brigades, an infantry brigade, an airborne assault brigade, an assault regiment, a marine brigade, and two National Guard brigades. Ukrainian losses reported at 350 personnel, three armored combat vehicles, and eight vehicles.

\- "EASTERN AXIS (Zaporizhzhia & Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts):" The "East" force group continued advancing deep into defenses, engaging one mechanized brigade, one assault brigade, three airborne assault brigades, and two assault regiments. Noteworthy Ukrainian losses include 375 personnel, seven armored combat vehicles, 13 vehicles, two MLRS combat vehicles (including a Czech-made Vampire launcher), two artillery pieces, and one EW station.

\- "DNIEPER AXIS (Zaporizhzhia Oblast):" Forces improved tactical positions, engaging mechanized, mountain assault, and coastal defense brigades. Ukrainian losses reported at 20 personnel, five vehicles, and one supply depot.

"3. OPERATIONAL ANALYSIS & IMPLICATIONS"

\- "Deep Strike Escalation:" Russian forces struck targets in 156 districts, marking an increase from the previous day's 141. The deliberate targeting of fuel depots and energy infrastructure confirms a strategic campaign to degrade Ukraine's logistical sustainment and industrial base. This widening of the deep battle imposes cumulative pressure on Ukrainian supply chains and complicates force generation.

\- "Counter-Battery and EW Focus:" The destruction of a Ukrainian counter-battery radar station in the North and an EW station in the East indicates a systematic effort to blind Ukrainian artillery and disrupt command-and-control networks. By degrading Ukraine's ability to conduct counter-battery fire, Russian artillery gains greater freedom of maneuver and survivability.

\- "Foreign Equipment Attrition:" The reported destruction of a Czech-made Vampire MLRS launcher, alongside continued mentions of foreign-made artillery pieces, reinforces the Russian priority of targeting Western-supplied systems. This serves both operational and information warfare objectives, signaling to donor nations that their equipment remains vulnerable.

\- "Sustained Multi-Axis Pressure:" Russian forces maintained concurrent offensive operations on at least six axes, forcing Ukraine to allocate reserves across a broad front. The "Center" and "East" groups continue to account for the highest Ukrainian casualty figures, suggesting these sectors remain the main effort for territorial gains.

\- "Air Defense Density:" Russian air defense systems reportedly intercepted 301 UAVs and 10 HIMARS rockets in a single 24-hour period. This represents a significant increase in UAV intercepts from the previous day's 155, indicating either increased Ukrainian drone sorties or enhanced Russian detection and engagement capabilities. The layered air defense network continues to suppress Ukrainian precision-strike capabilities.
