beginner goggles

im going skiing for the first time in march, and the place im going to rent everything but goggles, they said i could technicaly go without them, but i asked a few of my friends and they said how its almost compulsory to have them? does anyone have any suggestions, im not trying to spend too much on them, but i dont want them to be too cheap either in case they break or something. I do plan to keep going cus honestly skiing seems like a lot of fun so maybe something thatll last me a bit?
