PPIs / H2 Blockers

Mild erosive duodenitis

Stomach was normal and so was the oesophagus

For context I’m not in any PPIs or H2 blockers.

I’ve been prescribed 20mg of famotodine as I don’t seem to get on well with PPIs as I previously did.

I also have celiac and I am currently ruling out gluten exposure from my house although I an STRICTLY GF.

This is the second flare I’ve ever had and I must say it’s got considerably better over the last 8 months.

I’ve been eating bland taken out dairy live in herbal teas like ginger chamomile and liquorice. I’ve tried slippery elm don’t think it did much I made bone broth weekly and have a mug a day.

Basically they want me to go on famotodine now I haven’t yet tried a H2 blocker but I don’t get burning now unless I eat something my stomach doesn’t agree with or I just have a random shitty day with it like once every 2 weeks for a few moments and then it’s gone.

I try and reintroduce stuff and my stomach at this moment sometimes says get fucked but again still not as bad as it was 8 months ago.

I’m now fighting with myself as to whether or not I need to take the H2 blocker they’ve told me to take it for 2 months. But when I took the PPI of the lansoprezole 15mg I felt as if I had a brick in my stomach. It took 12 weeks for me to get back to normal I was only on them once a day for 6 weeks and felt better coming off them. My question is what would you do?
