CO to KS move: What should I expect?

Discussion

Hi everyone! I am currently preparing for a big move from Colorado to Kansas and I could really use some local advice. I just accepted a new job offer that starts in early March, so my plan is to be fully moved into my new place by the end of February.

I already found a rental apartment, but since I have lived in Colorado for a long time, I am not sure what to expect regarding daily life. People say Kansas is much cheaper, but I want to know the truth about grocery prices, utilities, and even the weather during spring. Is the cost of living difference actually noticeable in your monthly budget?

Regarding the move itself, I am looking for licensed moving companies recommendations. I have a lot of furniture and fragile items, so I want to avoid any unofficial or sketchy movers. I used a licensed moving company in the past and was very happy with them, but unfortunately, they are fully booked for the dates I need in February.

Are there other licensed companies that could help with a move from Colorado to Kansas? I want to make sure I hire someone reliable.

Any tips on making this transition smoother would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
