Got into SUNY Stony Brook for Physics !!!!!!

Hey everyone,

I recently got into SUNY Stony Brook for Physics and I’m really excited. I wanted to ask current students/alumni (especially physics majors):

• How’s the overall campus life and social scene?
• What are the dorms like (cleanliness, space, bathrooms, bugs, maintenance)?
• How’s the dining hall/food situation?
• How safe does campus feel, especially at night?
• How strong is the physics department (teaching quality, workload, difficulty, grading)?
• How approachable/helpful are professors and TAs?
• What are extracurriculars like — both physics-related and general clubs?
• How’s the career/internship support (career center, networking, opportunities for STEM students)?

I’d really appreciate honest reviews — pros, cons, and anything you wish you knew before choosing Stony Brook.
