What's your market advantages in the era of AI Agents?
Hi builders!
Short context: After the Opus 4.5 was released I gave it a try and directed it to build me some web tools that I normally would need a few weeks to create myself. Nothing edgy some medium-complex stuff but I wanted it to use a technology stack I'm pretty familiar with, so I could evaluate the output.
I initialized a repo, created an `AGENTS.md` file, where I put the objective of the app, services structure, tech stack, constraints etc. and clicked "build". I have to admit I was pretty much amazed by the result. I mean the code was okay-ish, not great not terrible, but it did the job and played along with other components. When I spotted something wrong Claude was able to fix it by itself, so I didn't drown in the bugs. It was of course not secure until I explicitly told Claude to pay attention to this aspect.
A few weeks have passed during which I spawned the agents left and right, and noticed their shortcomings, but still I was able to produce working code with neat features, which I did not even know there was API for (well I don't have MDN docs in my head all the time).
In short, almost any feature I would think of, or I had seen somewhere, was possible to implement in minutes if not seconds by an AI agent. And after some tweaking it would handle the edge cases too. Sure, the app could get bottlenecks under heavy load but for most of the time I guess it would work fine.
So my question from the title is: now when the cost of feature development is coming close to 0, how do you find your market advantages that let you stand out in the crowd or be ahead of the competition? I'm talking about SaaS market here.
