They should’ve wrote an abortion in Debbie’s story line

This might be an unpopular opinion but I think the writers should’ve written Debbie getting an abortion. Firstly, she wanted to have Dereks baby so she could be accepted into a close family like Dereks sister in law but upon falling pregnant Derek is immediately taken away by his father and his mother and family is quite hostile towards Debbie so there’s no reason to have the baby anymore. Secondly, when Debbie makes a flour baby and those 2 girls in school basically tell her how having a baby is robbing them of their teenage experiences like going to the mall with their friends she looked visibly worried.

I get that Debbie had always wanted a baby, having stolen one when she was younger, but taking care of dolls and a child that’s not yours and you’re not responsible for is entirely different to being someone’s mother and going through the pregnancy itself.

I also understand that Debbie being who she is and where she’s from makes teen pregnancy realistic but given Fiona, her guardian, and her oldest brother both were against the pregnancy and wouldn’t have forced her to have the baby and an abortion would’ve been payed for I feel it would’ve made sense for her to terminate her pregnancy.
