Anybody own the Polk Reference line? Looking at starting my journey.

I’ve been debating getting into the home theater space and came across Polk Audio, KEF, and Klipsch speakers. Was specifically looking at R200s or even the R500s as the 700 series seems way too large for my setup at this time. I had questions about the overall finish on them. I somewhat like the wood lament on it, but wanted to know do they look like they do in pictures or is it a completely different tone once out of the box?

Due to this i am leaning toward black, but the brown is catching my attention.
