Hi all!
I’m looking to help my boyfriend build a **very simple hair care routine** for his wavy/curly hair.

**Hair details:**

* Curl pattern: **2C–3A (wavy with loose curls)**
* Density: **medium–high**
* Takes about **1.5 hours to air dry**
* Mild frizz, especially when dry
* Hair feels dry if he doesn’t use oil

**Current routine:**

* No styling products
* Uses **coconut oil** for slip and softness
* Recently started using **Amika (blue bottle) shampoo + conditioner**, about once a month
* never brushes his hair
* never uses heat on his hair

**Goals:**

* More **defined waves/curls (losing shape lately)**
* Better **moisture** (not just surface slip)
* Keep the routine **low effort** (ideally 1–2 products max)

I suspect the coconut oil is giving slip but not actually moisturizing anymore, and his curl pattern seems less defined as he gets older.

Looking for:

* Lightweight leave-ins, creams, or gels that won’t feel crunchy
* Tips for moisture without over-washing
* Anything beginner-friendly for men with wavy/curly hair (shampoo, conditioner, hair mask)

Thanks so much! PS: first photo is his hair in the morning, straight out of bed. second is his preferred length of hair “styled”
