How Do You Move On From Someone Who Didn’t Even Try?
I met someone on Reddit and we became really good friends. He slowly became part of my daily routine. I got so used to talking to him every day that it felt natural. But after some time, I realized he wasn’t really putting any effort into this bond. He never texted first, never called, never really expressed anything. He didn’t share much about himself either. It felt very one-sided. So I stopped texting him to see if he would notice. He didn’t reach out at all. Later, I texted him and he gave excuses about being sick and not being in the right state to talk. After a few days, the same pattern continued. I stopped talking again. This time he reached out, but honestly, it still wasn’t enough. I listened and gave it another chance, but nothing changed. I was never a priority to him. It’s been almost two months now with no proper clarification or effort from his side. He’s 22 — how can someone be this emotionally immature? Or maybe he just doesn’t care enough to change. If he had no real interest in maintaining the friendship, shouldn’t he just let it go instead of acting like everything is normal? I was genuinely attached. I didn’t know people could act close to you without actually being close. This hurts.
