Backpacking from Cottonwood Creek (hetch hetchy loop) advice is much appreciated

I got a permit from Cottonwood Creek trail head (Mather Ranger Station). I'm planning on backpacking the Hetch Hetchy loop. The dates are July 26 to August 1st. Anybody do this loop during that time of year? Any reason not to do it? Would love this community's input. This will be my first backpacking trip in about 10 years!
