Please help me, I’m scared

So I found this game via the Khanlusa video and was immediately on board. I know basic story beats from that video but otherwise have dived into the game blind. I’m playing grim difficulty, and am just about to finish spring right as the red tide hits.

I am NOT prepared.

I think I’ll be able to make this week’s defender ration by buying all the food in the shops, but am woefully unprepared for whatever twist will happen next, and at this rate won’t be able to stockpile anything for winter. I feel increasingly more desperate at the thought of the village starving (fantastic effing game, anxiety nightmare 10/10 no notes)

I have four fish traps, maybe 50 crops growing, and the alpheep and bluggie buildings, though I haven’t finished fencing them in and don’t have any of the animals yet (got tano working on catching me an alpheep). I’ve got two each of smokers and smelters, 3 each of kilns and woodcutters, 4 composters and 8 drying racks. I have a copper fishing rod and iron pick and axe.

So does anybody have any beginners advice (that isn’t start over lol)? I know I need to get ranching going and increase my fish traps to get on top of carnivore food, but I feel like there’s never enough stamina in the day to catch up on these things and am worried I’m stuck in a death spiral. What should I prioritize first?
