Is it selfish of me to want to disown family so I can put myself first?
I'm in a HENRY (high earner not rich yet) career, I won't give the full sob story, but I had a rubbish upbringing and was always had to put myself last and the things I had ambitions for, I wasn't supported by my family members. A parent was living in rented accommodation and died, my sister refused to move out and she ended up living with me rent-free for four years, refusing to work and so forth. I'm now in therapy, dealing with a bunch of trauma and neglect from my own childhood and I'm finally starting to feel happy again, not only that, I've been made to realise there's different ways to feel and treat. Sorry to bring up a Doctor Who reference, I was sort of brought up to be a "Dalek" if that makes sense.
I'm now wanting to buy my first home, my siblings refer to my money as "our" money and anything I've worked hard for, they say "they" worked hard for. I want to buy my own home, I think I'll be happy if I'm away from them living in a home of my own. Is it selfish of me wanting to disown family so I can put myself first?
