My theory on the Salary Expectations "Trap"
If a salary or hourly range is below $100k per year, the company budget is actually between both numbers in the range. For example $60k to $90k means the actual budget is $75k.
Now here is the trap part, if you see a posting especially if the range is really large and/or above $100k, the smallest number is the budget. For example $60k to $120 the budget is only $60k. Anyone who request anything above $60 k is automatically rejected.
Any thoughts on this theory?
