I just wanted to give you guys a heads up on an issue I ran into with a TiSlim Racoon that I had purchased. First off I want to be clear I'm not hating on Vosteed, in fact I have a bunch of their stuff that I'm very happy with. I got the TiSlim on a Monday afternoon and only opened and closed it a handful of times that night. I took it to work the next day and I opened it once and the studs on the crossbar lock came apart rendering the knife useless (see the pics). I went home and disassembled the knife and screwed the studs back together but there is hardly any thread on them, and if you tighten it snug the crossbar will not go back and forth. So I backed them off a little. I emailed Vosteed and their customer service got back with me apologized asked for pics of the issue and told me they'd replace the knife if I'd like but the problem is they told me that they wanted to have a solid one piece crossbar like on the Parallel but the manufacturer changed it to a screw together bar without them knowing and suggested that I "glue" the studs together when I reassemble. I replied back that I would use blue Loctite and not glue but I'd give the knife another shot. By that Tuesday evening the studs came apart again and I just returned the knife. It's not a quality control issue on my one knife, it's a production issue that can impact all of them due to the crossbar studs screwing together. I got my money back and bought a Psyop instead. The customer service was really good though and had great communication and they offered me some discounts. But when you spend like $180 on a knife you don't want it falling apart every 12 hours, and yes I could have used more Loctite but at that point I was just annoyed that I even had to do that at all. It's a cool knife I just really wished it would have worked out better.
