Report System Abuse on Thunderstrike – Being Threatened for a Farm Spot
Hi everyone,
I’m playing on the 20th Anniversary servers on the Thunderstrike realm and today I had a very frustrating experience while farming gold at the Throne of Kil’jaeden.
I was there on my own, farming in my own spot, when an Alliance mage named Naivia showed up and told me that if I didn’t leave, he and his friends would mass report me. I wasn’t doing anything wrong — I was simply farming normally. He kept claiming that he was there first, but if that were true I wouldn’t be able to tag and pull the mobs before him. So that argument doesn’t really make sense.
He is also playing with multiple characters, and right after this started I began receiving whispers from different characters that only contained a single dot. Because of this, I’m pretty sure they are already mass reporting me.
What bothers me the most is this: after 16 years of playing World of Warcraft, the idea that someone can try to weaponize the report system to force people out of a farming spot is incredibly discouraging. And the worst part is that I will most likely be the one who gets automatically banned because of these coordinated reports. I do not find that fair at all.
This kind of behavior shouldn’t be normalized, and the report system shouldn’t be something players can use as a threat to control content or farm locations.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? What is the best way to protect ourselves in situations like this?
Thanks for reading.
