Basic noob post

There’s probably hundreds of these everyday but here’s mine. Is now a good time to get into this hobby? I watched a little bit of the show when I was younger (I’m 17 right now) and i remember it being pretty decent. I have a personal vendetta against all things pokemon, but i want to get into a TCG so here I am. Is the hobby in a good place right now? Like the prices, the fans, the popularity, etc.
