Hi I took a loan from an online app

Hey guys..I was into gambling and I took a loan from an app for 8000.. it's been more than 7-8 months I have quit gambling... Since then I had changed my number...but it worries me..not that I don't want to pay back but the interests are really high and I think It doubled by this point of time... I have chosen to ignore it but I feel like it might haunt me back in the future...will it be a problem if I chose not to pay them back or is there any way I can negotiate to pay an amount which is not verh high
