I think I have some trauma from my previous sport, and now I don’t trust myself anymore.
Hi! This is my first time posting on Reddit. I hope to get some advice about my situation.
To give you some background, I started Muay Thai a year ago, and I really enjoyed it so much that I decided to get a year's membership. But the problem is that throughout the year, every class was pure torture for me (you should know that I'm a hypersensitive person): stomach aches, social pressure, feeling like crap during sparring...
I don't know if I've suffered any trauma from that, because I really loved that sport and I'm still practicing Muay Thai at home, doing shadowboxing.
But now I have another sport in mind: bouldering. This was on my list of sports I wanted to try at least once in my life. The problem is that I'm overthinking everything because I'm terrified of reliving the same experience I had with Muay Thai. I know they're not the same sports, but the social pressure and feeling like a failure can also be felt in bouldering. (I think ?)
So here I am, at a crossroads. I don’t know if I should trust myself and risk making the wrong choice again (even though I still love Muay Thai) or if I should just give up on the idea of bouldering altogether…
Thanks for any advice you might have, lol.
