We are thinking about getting a second dog. Mostly the reason is for our first dog. We do pretty well fulfilling her energy and enrichment needs but there are times each day where we are winding down being tired humans after dinner and she gets a second wind and isn't ready to settle down. It's even worse in the winter.

I feel terrible with those sweet eyes staring at me like MOM IM BOREDDDD.

She will be 3 years old at the end of April.

Yes we have MANY types of toys and chews and things for her in the house. We have a version of a king which I stuff treats with for an example, antlers, stuffies she can chew. She will play with them but sometimes it's just not what she wants.

Yes we do regular outdoor playtime/walks every day multiple times a day. I work from home so she's with me all day and we go outside throughout the day for breaks. She mostly sleeps during the day until our lunch break etc.

Yes we do weekly doggy play groups and sometimes she goes to daycare if I have to go into the office.

I wish we had a dog we could watch for a week or something to see how it goes. I might ask one of her playgroup friends parents to see.

Mostly I wanted to ask you all if you had similar situations and if there were any regrets and things to consider.

Thanks in advance!
