Highspot and Seismic are merging
Call it a merger but it sounds like an acquisition to me.
The new company operates as Seismic (same name, same CEO, same PE firm).
When two platforms with complete product overlap combine, one technology stack typically becomes the foundation.
During the merger review (typically 15-30 days, potentially longer), both companies face constraints on collaboration and forward planning. Then, during integration, resources shift from building new to reconciling existing.
Not sure how teams today can absorb 18-24 months of likely reduced innovation velocity which they focus on integrating tech stacks and processes.
Enjoyed this thought piece on it. Curious what others are thinking.
