Returning player - My character from back when there was single world is now on wrong server

As title says, I have not played this game for a few years. When I played, there was only one global server.

I have always played from Europe but my character was put on the North-American server and I have nothing on the European server.

Did this happen to everyone? I want to play on the EU where my ping is low but I have zero characters there as they have been put on NA. Is there a migration possible or is this the quickest uninstall after returning to the game ever?
