Installed a perfect heat pump system in September. It's now February. It's still not running. I want to cry.
Finished a 220kW commercial heat pump install for
client back in September. Fully commissioned, tested,
signed off. The system works perfectly.
You know what doesn't work? The grid connection. DSO says Q3 2026
at the earliest.
Q3. 2026.
The system is just sitting there. Doing nothing. Being perfect.
Mocking me.
Client is withholding €38K final payment until it's actually running,
which — fine, I get it, I'd do the same — but I now have €38K in
limbo for the next 9 months while my accountant slowly loses his mind.
So we finished the job, we don't have the money. Great business.
This is the third time the grid has been the bottleneck
and not the actual installation. The installation is the part we're
good at! We do that fast! The DSO queue is apparently where projects
go to die!
Tell me someone else is dealing with this. Tell me there's a way to
check grid capacity risk before you commit to a bid and a timeline.
Tell me I'm not just going to keep discovering this problem after
it's too late to do anything about it.
What are you guys actually doing? Because "call the DSO and wait
3 weeks for a vague answer" is not a strategy
