Need to factory reset iPad

2 years ago, my grandmother passed away and I “inherited” her practically-brand-new iPad. I already had an iPad of my own, but I kept it on hand when my daughter’s older iPad eventually became obsolete.

My mom tried every unlock code she could think of, but my grandmother made this code different from everything else. And when I plug the iPad into my MacBook, it isn’t seen.

Is there a way I can factory reset this thing without going to the Apple Store?
